Women In Ancient Greece

1.How did women's roles in society differ from Athens and Sparta?

Woman in roles society where really different from the woman’s in Athens and Sparta, because all woman’s in Athens had the fallowing requirement, they had to have a guardian who was in charged of them. In order for Athens woman to accomplish marriage the father had to choose the male guardian for them depending on the Athens woman class, like rich married rich and poor married poor. Now woman’s in Sparta had more differ to the other woman’s in Athens because the woman’s in Sparta were to be able to be out of their home when woman’s in Athens were not allowed most of the time and had basically everything and owned slaves. Mostly all women’s in Sparta were married by the age of eighteen and had more privileges.

2. If the Greeks are considered so advanced, so culturally elite, why do you believe gender equality (equality between men and women) was not established?

Most of us know that Greek is a very historical location and that’s been consecrated advance. Well Greek is also located in what we call they old world and that’s why it’s so culturally. I believed that gender equality was not as publicity for men or woman back then. Most women’s were to obey there husbands and women’s’ weren’t to be without them and they wouldn’t make reasons for equality gender.

3.Based on your understanding of women in Ancient Greek society, how do you think women were depicted by artists at this time?

The woman could have been depicted by artist on this time depending who where they because if it was a woman with lots of height class the artist will characterized in her clothing manners background ext. and will be really artistic. If they despite in other type of women’s the artist will be based on who she is and what going threw. Her children, husband and more.
